The short answer

A Pinterest video downloader takes the link of one video pin and gives you the MP4 file. Saving a pin to a board keeps it on Pinterest; this puts the file on your device.
A video pin can carry its video at more than one size. The tool lists every MP4 the pin has and takes the widest one. It works for idea pins too, where the video sits on a page of the pin.

How to download a Pinterest video

Copy the pin link

On a computer, open the pin and copy the address bar. In the app, tap Share, Copy link, open it once and copy the full pinterest.com/pin/ link.
Paste it here

The tool reads the public pin and shows its cover, its pixel size and its length.
Download the MP4

One click saves the file, named after the pin ID. Download another clears the field.

A still pin shows the look. A saved video also shows the pace, the transitions and the first second, which is what you brief.

Send the files with your notes, so the person who films knows the shape, the length and the light you want.

Which file you get, and idea pins

A video pin can carry more than one copy of its video. The tool reads the pin through ScrapeCreators, keeps the MP4 copies on Pinterest's own video host and downloads the widest one.

An idea pin keeps its video on one of its pages. The tool looks there too. A pin that only has pictures gives the message that it has no video.

Secret boards, copyright and fair use

This tool gets public pins only. A secret board or a removed pin gives a "could not find" message. Pinterest's Terms of Service say the person who posts a pin keeps all rights in it.

Save a video for reference, and use your own freely. To post someone else's video, or to put it in an ad, ask the owner first. This is not legal advice.

Pinterest video downloader: FAQ

How do I download a video from Pinterest?

Copy the pin link, paste it into the tool above and press Download. The video saves as an MP4 in the largest size the pin has. When you want ads like the pins you save, start free with Selzee.

Can I download Pinterest videos online without an app?

Yes. The tool runs in the browser on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to install and no sign-up. For pins and ads in your brand, paste your store URL into Selzee.

Why does a pin.it link not work?

A pin.it link is a short link that points to the pin. Open it once, copy the full pinterest.com/pin/ link from the address bar, and paste that. Next, the ads: Selzee makes them from your store URL.

Does it work for Pinterest idea pins?

Yes, when a page of the idea pin is a video. The tool looks for the video on the pin and on its pages. For creatives you own outright, start free with Selzee.

What size is a downloaded Pinterest video?

The widest MP4 the pin has, shown in pixels before you download, with its length. It keeps the shape of the pin, square or vertical. For ads at the right size, let Selzee make them from your store URL.

Why does it say the pin has no video?

The pin is a picture, or it has no MP4 file the tool can read. Try another pin. Running Pinterest ads? Selzee makes them from your store URL.

How we checked

Last checked: 30 October 2026. We read Pinterest's ad specs for the video formats, sizes and lengths, Pinterest's Terms of Service on who owns a pin, and the ScrapeCreators documentation for the endpoint the tool calls.

Every way to write a pin link, pin.it links included, is in one test file that the page and the server both read.
A plain video pin, an idea pin and a picture pin are each in an automated test.
The download comes from our server, which only fetches a stored address on Pinterest's own host. It never takes an address from you.
A file over 150 MB, a redirect or a file that is not an MP4 is refused.
