The short answer
- A slogan is "a short easily remembered phrase, especially one used to advertise an idea or a product" (Cambridge Dictionary). The best ones say what the brand does for the buyer, in a way that sticks.
- Type the brand and what it does. The tool writes up to 15 slogans in 5 styles, 3 each, at 60 characters and 8 words or fewer.
- Each style fits a different place: a benefit line on a product page, a bold line on your site, a short one next to the logo.
- The code drops any slogan that claims to be "the best" or "number one", uses a number you did not type, or echoes another brand's famous slogan.

Nine ads from the Selzee gallery whose main line works as a slogan. Under each: the line, and the style group this tool would put it in.
Which slogan style fits where?
Benefit
Says what the buyer gets, in plain words. Use it on: ad headlines and product pages, where the buyer decides.
Playful
A pun, a twist or a wink built on the product itself. Use it on: social posts, packaging and stickers, where a smile earns a second look.
Bold
A short, confident claim or command taken from what the product does. Use it on: the hero of your website and the first line of a video ad.
Premium
Calm and refined, about craft, care or how it feels, never shouting. Use it on: packaging, the about page and the footer of your emails.
Short and simple
2 to 4 words that still say what the brand is about. Use it on: next to the logo, in a social bio and on merch.
Slogan, tagline or headline: what is the difference?
People use the words loosely. Cambridge defines a tagline as "a short, easily remembered phrase that a company uses in its advertisements". This page, and the tool, use the three words this way:
| What | Slogan | Tagline | Ad headline |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A line for the brand, or for one campaign | A line the brand signs its ads with, over years | The first line of one ad or page |
| How long it lives | A campaign or longer | Years | One ad |
| Where you see it | Ads, packaging, the site hero | Under the logo, at the end of ads | At the top of the ad |
| Example from the gallery | "Sleep on it." (Moongreens) | "Elegance with character." (Sadaels) | "Want coffee energy? Worried about jitters?" (RYZE) |
What makes a slogan stick?
Say what the buyer gets
A slogan about the brand ("We love socks") is easy to forget. One about the buyer ("Miles, not blisters") is not.
Keep it short
The tool keeps every slogan to 8 words. If you cannot say it in one breath, it will not fit on a cap or under a logo.
Use your own words
Type the words your customers use in "Words to work in". A slogan built on them sounds like the brand, not like a template.
Make no claim you cannot prove
"The best" and "number one" are claims a buyer, or a regulator, can ask you to prove. The tool leaves them out.
Test it in an ad first
Run your top three slogans as ad headlines for a week. The one that gets the clicks is the one to print.
Check it is free to use
A slogan can be a trademark: the USPTO says a trademark "can be any word, phrase, symbol, design" that identifies your goods. Search before you print.

How we checked
Last checked: 2 November 2026. The definitions come from Cambridge Dictionary (slogan, tagline), the trademark line from the USPTO, and the comparison from the two tool pages, read the same day.
- Seventeen slogan cases were worked by hand before the code: quotes and numbering stripped, a run of "!!!" made one, exactly 60 characters kept and one more dropped, 8 words kept and 9 dropped (4 and 5 in short and simple), and an invented number, "the best", "#1", a domain, a hashtag and "Just do it" each dropped. The code agrees with every one.
- When a style group comes back with fewer than 3 usable slogans, the code asks the model once more. A group still empty after that is left out, and the page says how many slogans came back.
- Ten runs on the "Try an example" input were checked for the rules above, then graded by a second AI model for how specific the slogans are, whether each fits its style, and anything invented.
- Typical, boundary and hostile inputs ran through the real page: an empty form, a one word description, a non-English brand and an instruction typed into the description box.
