How do I analyze competitor Facebook ads?

Search each competitor in the Meta Ad Library, filter to active ads, then read run time, versions and platforms. Signals, not results.

The answer

Search each competitor in the free Meta Ad Library, filter to active ads in your country, and note what every ad shows: the creative, the copy, the start date, the platforms and whether it has several versions. Ads that stay live for months and get new versions are the ones to study first. A new ad appears within 24 hours of its first impression.

Ordinary commercial ads show no spend, clicks or sales, so read signals, not results. Ads delivered in the EU stay for one year after their last impression and, through the Ad Library API, come with an estimated EU reach and an age and gender breakdown. Social issue and political ads show spend and reach ranges.

Do not copy the ads. Write down the hook, the offer, the format and the angle of each, find the angles that repeat in long-running ads, and test your own version of each. Selzee finds trending and long-running ads on Meta and recreates the idea for your brand.
