The answer

Generative AI analyzes competitor ads in two steps. First it collects public ads from ad libraries and reads the signals they show, such as run time, versions and platforms. Then a multimodal model describes each ad's hook, offer, layout and format, and the generator uses the patterns that repeat in long-running ads as a brief for new creative.

The AI mostly cannot see real results. On Meta, ordinary commercial ads show no spend, clicks or sales, and EU ads add only an estimated reach through the Ad Library API. TikTok's Top Ads shows performance, but only for high-performing ads that advertisers authorized for it. So "competitor performance" usually means signals, not results.

Treat the brief as a test idea and build it with your own brand, not the competitor's assets. Selzee finds trending and long-running ads on Meta, shows each original ad's start date, and recreates the idea for your brand.
